Today is a good day to resume my blogging. It is the fourth time this week that a student or friend has asked me why or if I continue to take classes from other instructors. The answer is indubidably, “YES!” I am forever a student. And boy do I have some amazing instructors who daily inspire me to do better not only with my postures, but to live my life more fully and graciously. The minute I think that I’ve learned enough, that I can be complacent, is the minute that I’ve lost the yoga. It is so important to maintain a beginner’s mind, an openness to new learning. You may try a teacher and think, “This is not the way I learned to do this pose.” Instead, I implore you to try to fully immerse yourself in the new method. Something may click in your body or mind in a new way. It could feel different….or better! Try it! You might like it! I believe that all yoga is good: all of the different styles, methods and modes. We move our bodies, we quiet our minds and enliven our spirits. I really can’t think of anything better. I am incredibly grateful to my students and teachers. I learn so much from you both. I feel like being able to teach yoga is a gift. it always feels like pleasure. Never a job. PURE JOY.
