thai yoga

Thai yoga is an ancient form of body work that combines assisted yoga poses, stretching, rhythmic acupressure and reflexology.

The oldest reference to this therapeutic massage was found in China's The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine and in Cong-Fou of the Tao-Tse which dates 3,000 years ago. Other references can be found in Ayurvedic literature (one of the oldest systems of medicine in the world originating from India) dating back 2,500 years ago. Thailand, centered between the India-China trade route, then adopted and popularized this healing method. Thai Yoga focuses on balancing muscular, skeletal, lymphatic, endocrine and nervous systems while restoring energy and deepening the connection between the body, mind and spirit.

What to Expect

Utilizing a futon-like Thai Yoga mat, I will guide your relaxed body into various stretches and yoga poses while working in time with your Ujjayi breath. You may be prone, supine, seated or on your side while I employ pressure from my palms, feet, elbows and body weight to deepen the stretches and asanas.
