Re-boot Your Computer!

Posted in: news, yoga

April 10, 2012

I believe that practicing yoga can help you change the way that your mind thinks. Each time we get on the mat it is like re-booting our computer. We have a clean slate, an opportunity to change the way our minds think. As we begin to accept and love ourselves, we can accept and love others. We can train our bodies not to go into fight or flight during uncomfortable situations. We can surrender to energy. The energy that we create, and the energy of those around us. How cool!

Shhhh…Your Molecules Are Listening

In March, 2012, I attended the Sages & Scientists Symposium. A speaker, Dr. Candace Pert, author of the book “Molecules of Emotion: The Scientific Basis Behind Mind-Body Medicine”, stated that the molecules in the body and mind are all the same and that they are all vibrating simultaneously throughout our bodies. There is only one predominant emotional thought, though, when a peptide binds to a receptor. You can stomp your foot with anger, or stroke your arm with love and can trigger a different emotional state within your body in seconds. Emotions move things in your body. You can choose to control this! Just by changing your body posture, or smiling, you can change the mental and physical state of being! Your molecules are listening.

Thoughts Into Joy

Thoughts into joy
Your thoughts are what frighten you. Choose to change them, and the fear is gone.
Your thoughts are what cause you to be frustrated, angry, disappointed, impatient and uncomfortable. And your thoughts can also take you far away from all those things.
For your thoughts can transform anger into forgiveness, disappointment into determination, discomfort into inspiration, and fear into love. The choice is always yours.
The world is what it is. Yet your thoughts determine how you situate yourself into the world.
By controlling your thoughts you control the kind of world in which you live. At the times when you realize it, and at the times when you don’t, you are always controlling your thoughts.
Deep inside you is a beautiful, unique person who seeks true joy and fulfillment. Let your thoughts resonate with the genuine person you are, and that joy does surely come.
— Ralph Marston
